چکیده
Anatomy of human nephrogenesis The human kidney derives from two parts of the metanephros, its embryonic precursor. The first of these is the ureteric bud, which branches into the collecting ducts containing K secreting principal and H handling intercalated epithelia, and also forms the urothelium of the calyces, renal pelvis, ureter, and bladder trigone. The second is the renal mesenchyme, which diVerentiates into nephrons comprised of glomeruli, proximal tubules, and loops of Henle. The human metanephros appears at 5 weeks of gestation, the first glomeruli form by 9 weeks, and nephrogenesis is complete by 34 weeks. 2

Congenital Malformations in Singleton Infants Conceived by Assisted Reproductive Technologies and Singleton Infants by Natural Conception in Tehran, Iran
Objective Multiple pregnancies occur more frequently in assisted reproductive technology (ART) compared to normal conception (NC). It is known that the risk of congenital malformations in a multiple pregnancy are higher than single pregnancy. The aim of this study is to compare congenital malformations in singleton infants conceived by ART to singleton infants conceived naturally. MaterialsAndM...
متن کاملI-19: Risks of Multiple Pregnancy, Preterm
Advances in treating infertile couples by assisted reproductive technologies (ART) over more than three decades have greatly improved the chances of better outcomes. While twinning and higher order multiple birth rates are still high in most countries, lower rates have sometimes been achieved by single-embryo transfer. متن کاملI. Normal Development of Human Kidney and Lower Urinary Tract II. Varied Phenotypes of Human Kidney and Lower Urinary Tract Maldevelopment III. Causes of Maldevelopment of Human Kidney and Lower Urinary Tract References
Normal development of the human kidney and lower urinary tract is a highly complex process that not uncommonly goes wrong. Furthermore, congenital malformations of these structures, involving absent, immature, or poorly-grown organs, account for most young children with long-term kidney failure who require dialysis and transplantation. Evidence is emerging that some of these individuals have mu...
متن کاملMitochondrial Factors and VACTERL Association-Related Congenital Malformations.
VACTERL/VATER association is a group of congenital malformations characterized by at least 3 of the following findings: vertebral defects, anal atresia, cardiac defects, tracheo-esophageal fistula, renal anomalies, and limb abnormalities. To date, no unifying etiology for VACTERL/VATER association has been established, and there is strong evidence for causal heterogeneity. VACTERL/VATER associa...

Background: One in every 250 newborns is exposed to antiepileptic drugs, inutero .The risk of congenital malformations in newborns, prenatally exposed to antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), is around 5% which is 2 to 2.5 times that of general population; while carbamazepine (CBZ) and valproate (VPA) still provide the treatment of choice in most forms of epilepsy, being efficacious in approximately two-...
